well, the Cards got swept. Not so good. Seemed like the Red Sox pitchers knew exactly what pitch to throw to everybody except maybe Pujols and Walker.

Olivia painted a pumkin yesterday at daycare. She's been better there. She brings along her bottle and a blanket so they comfort her.

Built in an air return yesterday downstairs. Seems to work ok. Going to put in another here sometime.

well, the cards are down 2-0 and short 4 runs so far tonight, not so good

Olivia is struggling with daycare, she doesn't like to be w/o mom or dad but I think that she'll get over that. I'm told that she doesn't interract with the other kids but she is just now learning to play with her toys and make them do things and not just watch them.

Tomorrow I hope to check out our basement. There aren't any air returns in it so it doesn't heat very well. I'm thinking about just cutting a big hole in the wall into the duct and getting a big grille but I'll have to see what we have down there to be sure. Elena wants us to use the basement more so this is something that will help make that place more hospitable and not _so_ cold all the time.

CARDS WIN

Yes, Elena I am going to write about the stupid cardinals win.

5-2 over the Astros. Rocked Clemens for four runs. Good stuff. Going to the Series vs the Red Sox who last night beat the yankees at yankee stadium.

Travis, Michelle and Forrest came over last night and we had some of Elena's lasagne. It was good. We just hung out and talked a bit. Good relaxing evening.

Going to Decorah tomorrow. Wayne is having a surprise b-day party. We found out about it at 9:30 PM today that it is tomorrow. Good planning AJ. He tells me its at T-bocks. That will be fun.

Oh, by the way CARDS ARE GOING TO THE SERIES!!!

yes that is right. Dad and I went to Iowa City to watch the Hawkeyes take the Buckeyes behind the woodshed yesterday. Best Iowa game I've ever been to. Drew Tate was amazing and the defense shut down the bad Ohio State offense.

We sat on the second row deep perpendicular to the endzone so not so great seats but there was a lot of action on our end zone. I brought home a couple of plastic cups. a program and a pom-pom that we found. Dad picked up a Chad Greenway jersey off the railroad tracks. A kid came up to him a quarter of a mile down the tracks and asked if we had found it, that he had dropped it, so he gave it back.

Today we were so busy at work. I ran and ran all day selling stuff left and right. Sold a spa and I'm pretty sure that was worth about 75 dollar bonus for me so woo woo!

H-O-T

My little girl who's vocabulary consists of very few words amazed me today. To this girl, every four legged creature and I are doggies. Elena is Mamamamamama. She knows what her shoes are, what "washed up" is and "outside."

My wife heated up a bottle and gave it to the little girl. She took it and put it to her lips and took a suck and handed it back to Elena while saying in her quiet little voice "hot." Elena tested it and lo and behold it was warmer than usual.

Back to work

Last Sunday we went to Cassidy's b-day party. Lots of fun, she got a bunch of fun toys. Olivia played very well with the other kids. She stayed her distance but stood near them and chased them around. We played a good game of garbage until around 10:30, then back to my parents to pick up Speckles and then 1 1/2 hr drive back home. Head hit the pillow about 1 am and up to work at 7.

Was good to be back at work though. Not much freight so straightened up a lot and organized things a bit.

Wapsi

Last friday I took off from work like the proverbial bat and headed for Decorah to meet up with Elena and Olivia. Elena had thrown out her back but had met up with the chiropractor so was feeling better. Then off we went to the Wapsi.
Drive takes about 3 hours and O did fairly well on the trip. We arrived and all the relatives were there relaxing in the cabin. We had a great weekend. The weather was perfect. We all just did our own thing with the fire or sitting around and catching up.
We stayed at the super 8 the winsther was all booked up or something. At a few meals at the Sunrise in DeWitt. Always a good meal.

Then went back to Decorah for the night. Went out to Ben's to help unload some stuff and talk about stuff.

Today met up with him again for lunch at the Sabor Latino, a Mex restaurant in Decorah. It used to be in the Cafe Delux.

Out for supper tonight at Bon's Buffet. Lots of eating out on this vacation. Don't go back to work until next Sunday.

Olivia is a crab-cakes. But I'm told its a phase that she'll grow out of.
